Nimbus Weather Microsite

Nimbus is a next-generation weather data API used by meteorologists and developers. They needed a marketing microsite that could communicate complex technical capabilities to two very different audiences: non-technical procurement leads and developer teams.

The story

What we set out to do.

01

Challenge

Weather APIs are inherently abstract — you can't photograph good data. The site needed to make terabytes of atmospheric readings feel tangible, exciting, and commercially compelling. The existing site was a wall of text with a signup form.

02

Solution

We built a scroll-driven narrative that turns the user into a weather observer. As you scroll, you move through a simulated atmosphere — from surface conditions to stratosphere. Data visualisations are live-rendered from the Nimbus API itself, making the demo genuinely accurate.

03

Result

Site launched to a 400% increase in demo requests in month one. Time-on-site average increased from 1:12 to 4:47. Nimbus was covered in The Verge and TechCrunch.

I've worked with a lot of agencies. I've never had someone take a brief about atmospheric data and make it genuinely thrilling. This site is a sales tool.
