Shore Cinema Trailers

Shore is an independent cinema in Lisbon. We created their complete brand identity and a motion package for their in-house trailers and social content — with a specific brief to feel cinematic, tactile, and a little unpredictable.

Challenge

Independent cinemas are fighting for cultural relevance against Netflix and multiplexes. Shore needed to be unmistakably cinematic in every touchpoint — from the Instagram story announcing a screening to the physical ticket stub — while operating with a much smaller budget than chain cinemas.

Solution

The identity centres on a single, memorable visual device: the film grain. We developed a custom grain overlay system that can be applied to any photograph, giving every piece of communication that analogue, projected-light feel. The logomark is deliberately imperfect — letterpress-inspired with intentional irregularity.

Result

Shore's Instagram following grew 340% in six months post-rebrand. Their weekend screenings now consistently sell out. They were featured in Monocle's annual cultural institutions round-up.

We've been to every meeting since the rebrand and the first question is always "who did your identity?" It's become a genuine conversation starter.
